You have played in Germany for about nine years. What brought you Germany in the first place?
Growing up in Canada playing, I wanted to make it over to Europe. It just so happend that I landed in Germany because of my coach. Being German he had some contacts there. Where I then ended up with TSV1860 Munich.
I imagine you´ve played on some big stadiums in Germany. How was it?
Germans do have great supporters. It doesn´t really matter at what level. Our home stadium was the Allianz Arena but other then that Köln, Kaiserslautern, Nürnberg and Dresden were unreal away games.
After six years in 1860 Munich, why did you go to Wegen Wiesbaden?
I went to Wehen Wiesbaden because I thought we had the potential and opportunity with a good group of players to get promoted back into the 2nd Bundesliga.
After just one game, can you compare the third league in Germany to the game you played against Djurgården the 17 july? Hard to evaluate, I know...
I think its still way to early to start comparing the two leagues but I´m sure I will be able to answer this after a few games with the first team.
What did you know about Swedish football before you came here? Did you know anything about Hammarby?
I am pretty new to Swedish football. Of course I know the big players who have made an impact coming out of the National team, but all the teams I am still getting used to. Before coming I have heard about the Fans and tradition here at Hammarby. That was also a big reason for me coming.
Why did you chose Hammarby?
I wanted something new. I have spent nine years in Germany, and I thought this would be a good time to explore a new football adventure. Talking with the coach and manager here I am happy they have given me this opportunity to build and learn more as a player. And at the same time try to help the other players around me.
Hammarby is playing 4-2-3-1. What would be your favourite position in that system? Why?
I like the formation we play here. It offers a lot of variety in the midfield where I mostly like to play. One of the two defending midfielders would be my personal choice, but as it is in football, I am happy when I am out on the pitch playing, it doesn´t matter where.
Has Gregg told you how he wants to use you in the team?
We talked briefly, but there is still two weeks before the first game I can play in .
On what positions can you play?
Midfield and also on the right side.
How close are you to feel 100 percent fit?
Things are getting better everyday I am out training. I think the timing will be close to perfect for the first game on August 4th.
What do you feel about having to wait until the fourth of August to play with the team. Though, I know you´re gonna play some games with U 21...
Ya, I cant really do much about the rules here so it will just give me the necessary time to get integrated with the team and my fitness up.
What is your impression of the team and your teammates so far?
After my first week things here have been real good. The guys are just what I like to see in a team, fun in the locker room, but hard working out on the pitch.
Since you speak fluent german, that must be helpful in order to learn swedish. Do you know any words in Swedish?
German took me a while to learn so I will have to expect some time with learning some swedish. I am sure some of the guys will help me out with some phrases. I said '' hur mär du?'' to the physio today and she just laughed at my pronunciation . So it looks like I have to learn more.
Take care, and thanks for your help! And again, warmly welcome to Hammarby, "probably the best club in the world"!
